Types of Inertia

Inertia of Rest : If a body is in state of rest then it always want to remain in the same state this is called as inertia of rest.

Inertia of Motion : If a body is in state of motion then it always want to remain in the same state this is called as inertia of motion.

Newton’s Laws of Motion

1st Law : If a body is in state of rest or motion then it wants to remain in the same state unless it is compelled by an external force.

2nd Law : The Force on a body is directly proportional to rate of change of momentum of the body.

3rd Law : Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.
