Question : A body thrown with some velocity reaches the maximum height of 50m. Another body with Double the mass thrown up with double the initial velocity will reach a maximum height of

(a) 100m

(b) 200m

(c) 300m

(d) 400m

Answer : Option (b)

Solution :

H_{\max }\alpha u^{2}

It body projected with double velocity then maximum height will become four times

\dfrac{H_{1}}{H_{2}}=\left( \dfrac{u_{1}}{u_{2}}\right) ^{2}\Rightarrow \dfrac{50}{H_{2}}=\left( \dfrac{4}{2u}\right) ^{2}\Rightarrow 200m
